Capanegra is an organization dedicated to International Cultural Management, circulation of artistic goods and the integral development of people.
Its headquarters are in Nercón, in the municipality of Castro, Chiloé, in the Los Lagos region, Chile; although the team is distributed internationally, it comes together for the largest and most ambitious activities of the group, whenever it is required.
The hallmark of this work is based on an esthetic, artistic and cultural view of reality that goes beyond any rivalry, dogmatism or ideology, and it seeks to generate instances of social and artistic exchanges to promote culture and encourage the diffusion of art.
CapaNegra seeks to provide the community recreational spaces linked to different art forms through design and production of artistic events for companies and organizations. In addition to workshops and training programs, all products equipped with an artistic, unique and innovative seal: the CapaNegra’s hallmark.
CapaNegra cultural agents develop cultural activities and events, with the aim of increasing regional cultural value and decentralizing access to culture. 1. We manage the CapaNegra network, bringing together various public and private entities working in pursuit of the local community cultural development in the region. 2. We provide recreational experiences to the community, through the design and production of artistic events for companies and organizations (Circulation events and a biannual FITICH). 3. We generate participation through a training program consisting of: The Artistic School Itinerant of Chiloé, the School of young spectators, the CapaNegra cultural magazine, and also professionals training. All activities and events are endowed with a unique and innovative artistic seal, the CapaNegra label.
The CapaNegra Network is composed of 25 organizations in the region (neighborhood boards, municipalities, cultural centers, among others) and it aims to turn their territories into areas for exchange and cultural development, taking advantage of the values of partnership and good neighboring practices.
In this way, the network hopes to create audiences in order to project a continued demand for art as a universal right and promote the integration of marginalized geographic and sociocultural sectors.
